Steve Van Dyke, P.E. and principal with FOX Engineering Associates, Inc. in Ames, Iowa, has been granted certification in the specialty of Water Supply and Wastewater and inducted into the American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEE). The Academy’s Board of Trustees has conferred the distinction of Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE).
Mr. Van Dyke is the youngest engineer ever to receive this distinction in Iowa where there are only seven non-academic BCEEs – three are principals at FOX Engineering. Two other BCEEs recently retired from FOX.
The 2011 Annual Meeting of the Academy's Board of Trustees (BOT) was held November 12 at the Stephen F. Austin Intercontinental Hotel in Austin, Texas. New Board Certified Environmental Engineers approved included 102 new BCEEs here in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Engineers with this distinction are considered to be “… among the Best of the Best.” Through the certification program of the Academy, the BCEE credential is given only to those individuals who are motivated through personal commitment and support of their employer to continuing professional development and advancement, and to ethical engineering practice and professionalism. Mr. Van Dyke has had to pass a rigorous experience review and examination process in order to earn this certification.
Mr. Van Dyke holds degrees from Iowa State University – a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Civil / Environmental Engineering. He began at FOX in 1998 with experience in civil and environmental engineering.
